Frequently Asked Questions on Hope Connection Center

Who can come to HCC?
Anyone from Bristol, Berlin, New Britain, Southington, or Plainville that is housing unstable or experiencing unsheltered homelessness.

How do I get referred?
No referral is necessary- when you come to the facility, ask for an assessment for drop-in services, and an FSC employee will sit down with you to connect you to services.

What should I bring?
It's always helpful to bring your ID and identifying documents in case a referral to shelter or housing can be made.  Please don't bring drugs, alcohol, or weapons into the space.

When are you open?
We are open Monday-Friday, including holidays, from 8:30am-4:30pm weekdays.

Are you a shelter?
HCC is not a shelter; it is a drop-in space for people who need basic needs support while connecting to shelter or housing.

What services do you offer?
We have showers on-site, laundry, clothing, transportation assistance, case management assistance and recreation opportunities.

If I see someone sleeping outside, how do I refer them to you?
If you see someone unsheltered, you can send an email to hcc@fsc-ct.org and indicate the area that you saw someone, including specific cross streets or locations, the time of day, and any information that could help our outreach team find them. Our outreach team will monitor this email and use it to help bring support to unsheltered community members.

Can you get me an apartment?
There are different housing options. We can schedule you an appointment with a Navigator who can assess your individual situation and see what might be available for you.
